Bramshaw 2nd's missing at least 8 regulars through 1st Team Call-ups and unavailability took on unbeaten Wellow and after losing yet another toss were invited to bat on what looked like another Bramshaw "road".
Wickets fell regularly against some more than useful Wellow bowling but it was especially pleasing to see the colts - Matt Alford - who looked to be given out caught behind off the thigh pad, Tom Arnold and Tom Beresford performing well and looking comfortable. Rich Beresford top scored with 30 and Tim Rogers made 19 in a well below par total of 115 all out. Jon Collyer was the pick of the bowling finishing with 4-46.
Bramshaw made a dream start in the first over with Tim removing Lockey with an absolute peach of a delivery and things looked even better in the 2nd over when Weaver was caught behind off Jamie Martin. However, Weaver refused to walk and the umpire was unmoved even though he was playing well away from his body and the nick was heard in Cadnam!!
What made this even more annoying was the fact Mr Weaver had the cheek to admit he had edged the ball - I thought cricket was supposed to be a gentleman's game!!
Young Gary Blake eventually had Weaver given out caught behind for 24.
R Blake saw the ball like a football from the off and made an impressive unbeaten 70* to take the impressive Wellow side home with 8 wickets in hand and plenty of overs to spare.
On this showing Wellow will certainly be one of the teams to beat this season, for teams hoping to gain promotion.
