Bramshaw took carnage to a new level with a stunning victory over Trojans at Totton and Ealing's ground to lift the border league cup for the second time! With the disappointment of losing the league the previous week still hanging over the team it was quite visible that all the players involved were up for this game and when Tarty won the toss and elected to bat the openers took to the field full of confidence. With the crowd growing Tarty and Jammo proceeded to take the opposition apart with an array of 'cultured' shots and energetic running and a run rate of 10 an over was rocketing the score along in the first six overs. Tarty was caught for 29 but the rate did'nt drop as jimmy came in and blasted 20 which included a massive six over the pavilion! With jammo scattering the crowd hitting the ball to all parts jimmy fell to a good catch. Wall-E was next in and straight away smashed one into the tennis courts! Jammo finally gave in to 'fatigue' and was bowled for an entertaining man of the match winning 64. Bramshaw ended up with a daunting 170 off there 18 overs thanks to a cracking six off the last ball by billy! With runs on the board and a good bowling line up bramshaw took to the field buzzing. Trojans kept up with the rate but losing regular wickets to the full quick bowling of mike kingston 2-25. The run rate started to drop and with a brilliant run out the game was drifting away from trojans. Jimmy 1-18 and wall-E 1-32 bowled superb and squeezed the game out to the finish, Tom Beresford bowled the final over and took a wicket to leave trojans on 135-9 and cap a fantastic result. A quality performance and with the quality facilities on offer a good night was had by all connected with the club. A great end to good border league season with some excellent performances by the youngsters, Tom Arnold was very good behind the stumps all season and Tom beresford chipped in with a few wickets too. Jimmy Manning ended up the leading run scorer and wicket taker with 524 runs and 15 wickets proving his worth to the team and that he is actually quite good!! Congratulations to all involved and hopefully more success next year
