2nds make hard work of victory

The 2nd Xl travelled to Emsworth and came away with a good win to keep them pushing up the league!

With Magoo losing the toss yet again Bramshaw found themselves in the field first and started brightly on an indifferent pitch. With the ball doing a bit early wickets fell with some 'angry' bowling from Dom taking a couple. The spin duo of Ben 'the bear' and Jammo then entered the fray and with the ball turning sideways on a dry pitch continued to take wickets and keep the runs down! The spin spell ended with them taking 5 wickets between them. Callum returned and bowling very well to end the innings and a target of 147 was set.

Boothy and Jammo started brightly with runs flowing quite easily off the opening bowlers and a 80 run partnership put them well on coarse for victory but when Jammo holed out for 50 the run rate slowed and with the spinners on runs were hard to come by. Boothy was still trying to push the rate along but he also holed out for a well made 60 and with some inexperience coming in cheap wickets fell. Benny came in and lashed a couple of boundaries and eventually dragged Bramshaw over the line!

A very good fielding display and with Callum getting better with his 'death' bowling it looks like the rest of the year could be good!
