Ronaldo Vane and Petrol Boy Stickland opened the batting for us and made a steady start before Petrol Boy had a heave at a lollipop delivery loosing his middle stump, Andy was next to go top scoring a credible 41. A returning Paul Bryant  coaxed the score along with Nigel Warren, Surfer Boy and Angry Dom and 24 off 2 overs from Evergreen and the impressive Matt Clasby gave us a total of 192. Angry Dom and James Mason opened the attack but no breakthrough was forthcoming despite Angrys attempts to cut the batsmen in half. Our stand in wicket keeper was none other than Petrol Boy Stickland who took a great catch down the leg side to give Phil his second wicket, however the reason he was diving leg side was that Phil had already bowled 8 wides (good thinking Stu). Phil finished with 2 for 22 off 4. Evergreen then pegged Thruxton back with a spell of 10 overs 2 maidens 4 for 26 putting us right back in the game. The end was tense with Paul and Angry taking a wicket each but despite heroic feilding Thruxton reached the total with 3 balls to spare. Although we were disapointed, the game could of gone either way and it was played in a great spirit by both sides. ps 2 good catches by Paul and a cracker in the deep by Phil.
