3rds @ Steeple Langford

We arrived at Steeple Langford expecting the game to be called off, but amazingly the weather was fine and after Phil lost the toss we were asked to bat. Timmo and Linno had a very good knocko putting on 87 for the first wicko, Tim scored 58 and the limpet like Linno was second out for 23. John Reeve had obviously used up all his credit with the lord asking for the rain to stay away because he got a third ball duck, Paul Bryant 17 and Dave the rave cooper 15 kept the score ticking along but the late order stars were father and son combo Andy and James Vane with a partnership of 51, Andy 44 and James 17. Will Moore and Nick Darch were not out in a good total of 214. With the weather closing in Phil and Evergreen opened the bowling in a race to complete 20 overs, after taking 2 wickets each we came off for rain with 18.5 overs bowled and the score on 40 for 4, but after a short break we were back on to finish the job. Timmo took 2 quick wickets but on his hatrick ball he no balled ( jug avoidance without doubt). The rain then stopped us again and Steeple Langford finished on 48 for 6 giving us the win.
