Petrol Boy Stuart Stickland went from zero to hero on a rain soaked day against Redlynch and Hale III at the picturesque Hale ground. Phil amazingley won the toss and decided to field, we opened with our first team superstar Mr Magoo and Phil and they got us off to a great start taking a wicket each for 34 and 26 runs in tidy spells, however during Phils 9 overs Petrol Boy dropped 2 slip catches and after the second drop Phil hoisted his trousers up Simon Cowell fashion and was heard muttering " Evergreen wont have enough keys on his bloody computer to write about you tommorow" ( never mind Stu). Next to bowl was tennis star Taylor Vane and Charlie Plumbley, Taylors spell was an amazing 1 for 8 off 5 overs with 2 maidens and Charlies was 0 ror 16 off 3 overs, Angry and Evergreen took a wicket each, Kev Longman took 2 catches and a blow to the nose and at the end of 35 overs we had restricted Redlynch to 156. After a superb tea Ronaldo Vane and Petrol boy strode to the crease with determination etched all over their faces, the runs started to flow immediatley as Petrol Boy cut loose with numerous cuts and pulls, he gave a half chance on 34 but had soon raced to fifty with Ronaldo providing solid back up, the runs continued to flow from Stuarts bat and in the 26th over he pulled a short ball to the boundary giving him his first ever hundred for Bramshaw. When Ronaldo was out for a gritty 40 Stuart and Andy had put on a record 3rd team 1st wicket partnership of 153. Evergreen hit the winning runs and we had reached the target with 7 overs to spare.
