3rds vs East Tytherley

I am pleased to report another win for the 3rds down at Landford against East Tytherly II. Phil lost the toss again and we were put in the field on another scorching day. Evergreen and Angry Dom opened the attack and, after a bright start for the visitors, pegged them back with 1 wicket for Dom and 3 for evergreen, then came skipper Phil who despite being wacked round the park by a 3 foot 12 year old took 4 wickets for 27 in 6.4 overs and almost had a hat trick (very impresive skip), James Mason bagged the other 2 wickets with a great 3 over spell. Now to the batting, Stuart "Petrol Head" Stickland day wasn't going well, after failing to spot the difference between black and green at the filling station he then failed to spot the red ball that struck him amid ships and left him in a squealing heap on the ground (poor old Stu). Stu was eventually out for 24 but his opening partner Ronaldo Vane batted on steadily with Angry Dom, after a couple of sixes Angry departed and in came Surfer Boy James Vane. Our target was 108 and when we were on 107 Ronaldo was on 44 and with encouragement from the crowd he smashed a six to leave hin on 50 not out. Great fielding again by Andy "The Doc" Hodder and a sharp stumping by Joshy Arnold made it a great day.
