Bramshaw vs Amport 2010

Phil won the toss (at last) and put us in the field for this must win match. On a batting track ,we struggled to keep the runs down and although we took 5 wickets Amport posted a healthy 229. The usually safe hands of Evergreen and Paul Bryant let us down but on the plus side Joe Cunningham bowled an excellent spell of swing for the second week in a row. The early loss of Petrol Boy Stickland followed by the Vic and Evergreen set us back but this only served to inspire Paul Bryant and our own Doogie Howser Andy Hodder MD to great things and with 72 and 68 they put us back on track, With 8 wickets down Skipper came to the crease and with a dogged innings leveled the scores only to lose his wicket with 2 balls to go. This was the moment that man mountain Papa Plumbley had been waiting for, he strode to to the crease and while the tallest and the shortest discussed tactics, we all held our breath, he took guard, the ball arrived, he stroked it into the covers, they ran like whippets and we were home.
